“Specialty Occupation Defined”
A specialty occupation requires theoretical and practical application of a body of specialized knowledge along with at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. For example, architecture, engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, social sciences, medicine and health, education, business specialties, accounting, law, theology, and the arts are specialty occupations.

REQUIREMENTS

For you to qualify to accept a job offer in a specialty occupation you must meet one of the following criteria:

OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT BY A U.S. EMPLOYER:

To qualify for an H1B Visa an applicant must have an offer of employment from a U.S. employer who is willing and able to pay the “prevailing wage” for the position offered as determined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
